The nice description of my dining room at present, with one coat of red paint and no more until the roof leak that appeared in such a timely manner this afternoon (our first!) stops sending a small trail of water between the paint and sheetrock.
That room has been so disagreeable this whole painting process. I was quite thankful tonight that Alabama is Blue Bell country and for the first time in months, we had some in the freezer. I needed some therapy.
ETA: At least Kate likes it. She’s exclaimed multiple times, “Oh mommy! The dining room is BEAUTIFUL!”
Mmm…you need to get their Anniversary flavor. “Century Sundae” It is amazing. Century Sundae is Homemade Vanilla ice cream with swirls of caramel, chocolate, whipped topping and maraschino cherries.
Did you know they have their new flavors picked out three years in advance? I have a friend who is developing a flavor with them and he was amazed at how long he will have to wait to see the finished product.
Yes, you can get Blue Bell there (as we can here), but you can also get Mayfield, which we can’t get here, and which I really, really miss.
When we lived in South MS, we were pretty close to Camp Shelby. There were a bunch of soldiers there from TN at one time, and a bunch of them had written home saying how much they missed Mayfield ice cream (Mayfield is headquartered in Athens, TN). Well, the Mayfield Dairy sent an ENTIRE TRUCK full of ice cream to Camp Shelby for the soldiers. I wished they had done the same for us civilians living in a Mayfield-deprived area.
(Moosetracks is one of our favorites. If you’ve had PET brand Moosetracks ice cream in NC or SC, Mayfield’s is the same recipe. So good!)
My brief stint in Austin made me a Blue Bell loyalist.
