I got a new camera last week and the lens I’ve been wanting came while we were gone. We should be posting a lot more to the family flickr account now, but here are a few pictures from today just because…

Oh, how exciting! Great pictures. :)
Those are beautiful. I’m interested in knowing what camera and lens you have.
I got a Canon Rebel XTi (just the body) and a 50 mm/1.8 prime lens. I decided if I ever got the camera I’d skip the kit and get a 50 mm and then when I ordered the 50 mm was backordered everywhere, so I borrowed a kit lens from a friend and then I found the 50 mm used.
the difference a good camera makes . . . aaah. hooray!
They get big fast! I gotta get out to Birmingham sometime….
You should still invest (eventually) in a wide angle to zoom kit lens. We have a bunch of prime lenses and they are great, but that kit lens is VERY handy to have for shooting action and such. It is also good to take to the zoo etc. so you are not carting around a bunch of lenses and having to swap them out while corralling kids at the same time!
Congrats on the new camera! Looking forward to the new photos.
Great shots, Kristen! How fun to have a new “toy.” (We have new toys, er shoes, here, too. Thanks!!)
Jennifer, I’m going to get a zoom lens eventually for walk-arounds, but I’d like something a little nicer than the kit lens, and the prime was a way to get started. Hopefully by the fall I’ll have a good flash and zoom lens…
Luckily for us, the kit lens with our D70s was a good lens. A good flash is essential as well! Shane likes to get his gear at Adorama, not sure if you have checked there yet. Worth looking anyway!
Enjoy!
Kate looks so serious. What cute children :)
I don’t know anything at all about cameras :p
