I am not sure who I am supporting in the 2008 presidential race. I have diverse values and none of the candidates really embody all of them, as far as I can tell. I’m just so tired of politics.

I liked Fred on Law & Order. =) I really didn’t know much about him until he made news this week. Now I’m intrigued.
I, too, have no idea who I will vote for. I’m not even the die hard Republican I used to be.
no idea either. i don’t love any of the democrats but i’ll be disinherited for voting republican (not that any of them make me particularly joyful either except that they’re VASTLY superior to the incumbent).
and for the record, i HAVE voted for a republican before, just never in any presidential election.
And the rad thing is that in America, you have the freedom to not vote for anybody if there is nobody particularly worth voting for. Or even better, if you don’t feel that you can responsibly choose to vote for someone.
We lived in Tennessee during part of the Thompson era and I did not like him at all. He seemed more sleazy and disingenuous than most politicians. Ironically, I had a great experience with Bill Frist – super nice guy. We had a student faint at a rally and Frist stopped everything to attend to her personally. Perhaps it was just a photo-op – but he gave me the impression of being really genuine.
ugh. i am so sick of putting my hope in politicians. i mean, they’re POLITICIANS.
Well then, don’t do it sweetpea. Just stop it out!
I don’t know if y’all have heard the new Derek Webb album yet, but I will be playing track 9 quite a bit next election: http://derekwebb.net/song-vault/a-savior-on-capitol-hill/
Great song. I remember a number of political tracks on Mockingbird, no?
Also, gotta love the WP theme on his site! :D
Though, I should add, that right now Fred has to earn my vote, but it is also his to lose. Meaning, I’ve had time with the other candidates and no one excites me. Ron Paul interests me, but not really excites.
We’ll see how Fred comes across. Too many candidates (esp the Dems) are playing not to lose, and I need a candidate who is principled, but will also step out and take it.
so far, fred’s the only one anywhere close to what i want.
i think ron paul’s interesting, too, but much in the same way that i think scientologists are interesting. freaking nutzoid… but interesting.
