The protest was a big success. If my digital camera would talk to my computer, I’d post a picture. We had over 70 adults sign in at the protest with 48 hours notice and 125 or more children of all ages. We were the top story of the 5:30 news on one local station and got a very sympathetic portrayal. We’ve decided to use the midwives at the local medical school hospital, who are supposed to be pretty good, and our midwife used to run that program (until six months ago) so perhaps she’ll get rehired there… I can only hope!
Kate’s first birthday party is on Friday. I’ve still got to get everything together (decorations, etc.) bake her a seperate cake and get all the food made or ordered for the rest of us.
We’re headed to Ocean Isle with my parents and siblings on Kate’s birthday proper. They’ve rented a large house and it should be great fun. Mike has to work on Tuesday, so he’ll only be there for the long weekend and Kate and I are planning to stay all week. It’s the longest I will have been away from my husband in our whole marriage!
Your pregnancy is so going faster than mine.
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure, Sarah!
i seem to be the only one of my college friends (and of a lot of my online friends my age) who *isn’t* pregnant or getting married this year…
like the new blog!
speaking of pics…
awhile ago, you mentioned about finding software to batch load your pics to a lower, web-friendly resolution…care to share?? does it work out well?

I just open the folder, select all the pictures and set the resolution and it saves a second copy of the picture in the folder with the same name, just prefaced with mini. Super simple. It’s not anything fancy, but sometimes that works best!
