Most of the regular commenters on this blog are not real life friends of ours, or didn’t start out that way at least. Since I’ve been blogging for five years this month, that’s to be expected! But a few of my dear friends jump into the fray every now and then, which is always a treat. Perhaps no friend’s comments are more hilarious and delightful than Reba’s. Here are a few selected classics. Rebecca is one of my oldest friends, though I am pretty far down her list of friends by length of time, since she never moved around growing up. We’ve been friends since our freshman year of high school and remained so throughout our years at Carolina. She lives near my parents (hers, too!) so we are fortunate to get to see her from time to time these days as well. Here’s to another ten years of friendship and laughter!
Kristen & Reba in Austin, TX — late Spring ’04 (when I was pregnant with Kate)
funny thing is – one of the aforementioned longtime friends criticized the length of time it took me to get ready for my plane ride that day. “why are you fixing your hair” “why are you putting on makeup” “why are you at the mall when i’m sitting at your apartment parking lot waiting to take you to the airport” “you aren’t done packing yet? your plane leaves in 30” blah blah blah
although i do look jet-lagged and bloated, i still think this proves me right yet again
Your hair looked positively lovely after the flight, which is proof positive that you know what you are doing (No matter what Mustin* thinks).

It is good to have real-life friends read your blogs. I think mine is the opposite, in that although I have been blogging for years as well, my following is much smaller than yours, and almost all are real life friends. :)
Hurray for Reba! I do love that gal’s wit! I’m only in the Wake Forest-Rolesville club by marriage, but what a fun club it is. Doesn’t it make you feel old to say you’ve had a friend for ten years?
Mustin…mustin…that sounds familiar…who are they talking about?? :)
every time a RLF reads my blog I have to hash out who hurt whom’s feelings. :eye roll:
There’s a reason why none of those people have their own blogs. I love them dearly, but they can’t read tone.
