The week was crazy and the weekend followed suit. We didn’t work today, but worship and fellowship all day wasn’t really… restful. I struggle with my theology of sabbath rest and my actual Sundays. In my ideal world, we’d sleep in on Sunday, make breakfast together, have family time reading and hanging out, go to worship after naps and have a large sabbath breaking feast after dinner. Can you tell I am not a morning person?

I agree with you. Sometimes Sundays seem like more work than even Mondays.
Yeah, I think Rachel would definitely agree with that whole schedule.
Our church has two services during the school year and we prefer to go to the early service and then Sunday School, giving us some really good rest in the afternoon and evening. Yesterday we started the day with worship and it just got better from there. (Our church doesn’t have evening church.)I might physically be tired today, but I feel rested in the since that I had a true Sabbath.
I like your idea as well. The church my sister goes to only meets at 6 pm, so she is able to rest during the day, ending her day with worship.
A few churches in our area have Saturday night services, in addition to Sunday morning. We also have visited two churchs with Sunday night services, often followed or preceded by a meal.
I really enjoy the evening services, but I commented to Jason yesterday that by going to a Sunday night services, I felt like I was giving God the last bit of my weekend instead of the first part of my Sunday.
i hate being in a grouchy mood when we leave for church. sometimes ruins the whole idea.
ps-the kitchen looks fabulous.
