We have a garden, for the first time ever. Four huge tomato plants, cucumbers, and peppers (green and red) as well as basil, cilantro, rosemary and spearmint. Aside from the beetle attacks on my basil, everything looks good so far. We’ll see how it goes come harvest time.

That sounds like a great start! We only have herbs this year: parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, lavendar, basil (Thai and sweet), dill, and tarragon. So far, so good, but it’s still too cold at night to put the basil out.
yay. is it a square foot garden?
this is sweetpea. sorry.
We did containers this year – reused nursery plastic containers.
That’s so fun, I’m doing my first ever garden too with the goal to be able to can salsa. I especially love green salsa, so I planted 4 tomatillo plants. They have taken over everything, but they do look lovely. But I have learned that next time I’ll have to spread it out a bit more.
That sounds like fun. When I was a kid, we had a garden and it was fun to watch plants grow. You are missing one essential summer garden fruit though, watermelon, because what is summertime without it.
